Raster™ Method for ADA Signs

Using the Raster™ Method, you can create Braille text on an ADA sign by inserting a Raster™ bead into a hole. New Braille regulations make the Raster™ Method the preferred method for creating Raised Letter Signage. Traditional routed Braille signs no longer meet the latest 2004 accessibility guidelines, which now require dome-shaped Braille dots. It is essential that the dots are uniform in size and in the appropriate position in order for the reader to understand the correct meaning. If your sign company does not have the ability to produce Braille signs that meet these new legal standards you will be missing some big opportunities in the interior signage business.

How does it work?
In flexible materials, such as acrylic, the bead is held in place by the tight friction fit of the bead in the material. Because the beads and the holes must be within tight tolerances, we offer precision-machined Rasters™ and precision cutters to get the job done right.

In metals and other hard surfaces, the Rasters™ are held in place by adhesive (the adhesive-assist method).
